Steve Soto post here.
Biden manages to weave the word "extreme" into his comments about Palin today, which is the first step over many weeks to establish the necessary narrative about her. He and Obama must force McCain and Palin to explain what their status quo economic solutions do to help working families, reverse job losses, expand the availability of health coverage, and put Main Street ahead of Wall Street.
They need to tell voters that more drilling does nothing to make us more energy independent or add a drop of gas for years. They need to tell voters that all this talk about being "mavericks" and phony change agents is aimed at avoiding a real discussion on issues. And they must plant the idea that Palin's views on abortion, global warming, and dominionist religion are anything but mainstream.
It also would be wise to plant the seed that she and McCain are lying about earmarks and her role in the bridge to nowhere. Again, a well-oiled Tier Two campaign could be out there establishing doubts about her integrity and credibility by hammering the truthfulness argument against her.
