Up late

I was going to go out tonight but felt really tired after a big dinner at Flanigan's. So I called my friend "Sean" in Canada and had a nice chat. I wanted to fill him in on the kitchen situation, etc.

I can't believe that the lady from Home Depot headquarters, who was supposedly handling my case, didn't call me on Friday as she said she would. You would think that, at this stage, after leaving me without a kitchen for over two months, Home Depot would be treating me like royalty. But no, they leave me in the lurch again, on a Friday before the weekend. I'm glad I called the Home Care number and was able to talk to someone. She seemed to be on the ball and was very attentive.

Then today, they charged me back the $425 I paid for the general contractor's permit. That was the least they could do. In fact, I'm going to balk at paying for any more of their services. I've already paid $7,000 for the cabinets, $3,000 for the counters, and put a big down payment on the $2,000 of electrical work (which includes $197 for a permit). The rest should be a freebie for what they've put me through. I'm so pissed.

I was up kind of early this morning, eager to see where Hurricane Ike was going. I think I can relax a little now.
