Bike Ride

One of the foot bridges on the way east to FIU Biscayne Bay campus from 135th Street. The bridges are built over channels cut across an old roadbed to allow fresh water from the nearby bay to intrude into the marsh and help flush out chemicals seeping from the former landfill to the north (where Biscayne Landing is being developed).

My bicycle and the bike path on FIU campus.

Looking across Biscayne Bay to Bal Harbour (Haulover bridge at far left).

Oleta River park from FIU campus (condos of Sunny Isles Beach in distance; bike path in foreground). Lots of boats out today. The weather couldn't have been better.

Cabin cruiser anchored off Oleta River park.

Catamaran anchored off Oleta River park.

FIU School of Hospitality Management.

Stable and horses at Enchanted Forest park, which encompasses a beautiful grove of tall oaks. The path in the park is extensive.

"Natural" limestone bridge over Arch Creek (see post below).

I was out for over two hours but did stop at KFC and DQ for some refreshment along the way.
