The Vonage is working fine. Today I bought a new portable phone with two handsets. The old one was wearing out so bad you could get bruised entering some of the numbers on the keypad (#4 being the worst). The new one is DECT 6.0 Digital with all the bells and whistles. Tonight I set it up and put some numbers into the directory on the main handset (and named the handsets). This way we can have Vonage on two phones. I didn't want to do any re-wiring or whatever to have Vonage on the old second phone in the kitchen. I'll leave that phone where it is (on the wall) to cover up the jack. The line no longer works for calls, just DSL (a "dry loop connection").
We didn't need an answering system since Vonage has voicemail. Vtech website here.
The phone was on sale 20% off at Radio Shack (sale ends this weekend).
