TGIF

Actually, I was off today, on vacation. I'd wanted to take my car to the local Ford dealership (it's a Mazda on the outside but a Ford Ranger on the inside) to have the recent problem checked out, but almost overnight (it seems), Beach Ford has turned into Potamkin Honda. I drove by there last night, since I wasn't getting through using the phone numbers for Beach Ford listed in the current phone book. The old service facility, where I'd taken the truck a while back, is completely shut down. Today I called Potamkin Honda and told them my predicament and, no, they don't service Fords there. They recommended Metro Ford or Maroone (which are not even close). My plans were foiled. I'll just have to find a local repair shop where I can drop the truck off and walk or bus it home. (The truck has been working fine lately, but you never know when it won't start.)

Last night I got the bulk of my Christmas card mailing and gift shopping done. I sent out custom cards via USPS (with a photograph [not seen here before] of our amaryllis in bloom last year) and Harry & David "Holiday Towers." (I love getting those myself.)
