Palin: God has “richly blessed” Florida with natural energy resources

A post from Firedoglake, here.

Campaigning in Clearwater, FL today, Sarah Palin said something rather weird.

Speaking about energy policy, she talked about Florida's potential energy sources, saying, "God has so richly blessed you here!" She saw potential for wind and solar power generation in the Sunshine State, and renewed a call for oil drilling off Florida's coast.

Now granted, that wasn't as weird as Joe Lieberman's introduction of Palin, in which he said that she would win the election "with God's help." But Palin's formulation is more than a little bizarre.

Off the top of my head, here are a few places God seems to really like a lot, using Palin's blessings-via-energy resources theory.

* Saudi Arabia
* Russia
* Iran

Why does God love Iran more than Florida?

UPDATE

I see that Israel has to import most of her energy. Why doesn't God love Israel as much as Saudi Arabia?

Now I know who Sarah Palin reminds me of: Anita Bryant.
