Thursday night

Almost TGIF. I've been working late the last couple of days to work off some of the hours I've spent at home dealing with the kitchen remodel.

The cats don't like my new schedule, but it will return to "normal" tomorrow. Bootsy in particular was upset tonight that I didn't take a nap with him today. (I usually do.) I got home at around 9:30, and last night at around the same time (and then had to deal with Lucky's falling off the terrace). No naps.

Home Depot's involvement in the kitchen remodel should be over next week. The electrician and plumber are coming back next Wednesday to finish everything off (supposedly). Then there will be a final inspection on Thursday or Friday.

This morning, the cabinet guys were back to chew a hole into the side of a cabinet (on the inside to the left of the sink) so that the plumber can work on a valve. They were very reluctant to do so (since the plumbing was already in place), and I can understand. These guys take great pride in their work and don't like disfiguring cabinetry. Once the plumber has finished what he has to do, I'll repair the damage myself. I'll put some trim or something around the cut. (Even though it's not readily visible--you have to sit down on the floor to see it.) But I'm a perfectionist, too.
