Another ally trying to have it more than one way on Proposition 8. Having said, in April at a Log Cabin Republican meeting when asked about Prop 8, that he "would always be there to fight against that," GOP Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has been silent since. Today:
"It's unfortunate, obviously, but it's not the end," Schwarzenegger said in an interview on CNN this morning. "I think that we will again maybe undo that, if the court is willing to do that, and then move forward from there and again lead in that area."
This is a governor who twice vetoed marriage equality bills that reached his desk after being passed by both houses of the California legislature:
"This will be part of his legacy," said Geoff Kors, executive director of Equality California . . . . "He single-handedly is standing in the way of lifting the cloud of discrimination for millions of Californians."
