Watching Keith Olbermann. So the Republicans came out with their budget today. Same ol' silliness. Even more tax breaks for the wealthiest. The Republican lawmakers are only digging themselves in deeper by proposing more of the same that got us into this miserable mess. The people get it now. "Trickle-down" economics doesn't work for them or for the good of the country. It's been thoroughly and utterly discredited. The Republicans have nothing to offer. That's precisely why they're out of power. They mucked everything up and the people are feeling it royally like they haven't since 1929.
(It's too bad so many of those people voted for George Bush (perhaps twice). They should have known better but maybe they were hoodwinked. The Republicans were good at hoodwinking. Lesson learned.)
Had a nice lunch today with some former co-workers/friends from way back. We went to an Indian restaurant none of us had ever been to. At lunch they have a buffet for $11.99 (no ordering off the regular menu). Nice variety of dishes, the names of which I can't remember. Wait--I do remember that we had "sheera" for dessert, sweetened semolina with nuts.
I like to watch Chris Cillizza. He looks like a vampire with those cuspids.
Ed Schultz is getting his own show on MSNBC? Good. ("The Ed Show" premieres Monday at 6:00 p.m.) See AP story here. I used to listen to his radio show on the local Air America affiliate (940 AM) until they changed his time slot.
