The White House says President Barack Obama has told Democratic senators to keep up the fight on health care legislation.
Obama meet with Democrats on Sunday afternoon as the Senate worked through the weekend on the president's top domestic priority.
Deputy White House press secretary Bill Burton says Obama thanked Democrats for their hard work and encouraged them to keep at it.
Obama says the legislation can provide stability and security for people already with insurance and can provide coverage for people without it. The president also says the overhaul would drive down costs for families, small businesses and the government.
